The PTO is a unique design that is proven to normalize patellar tracking through its patented Cawley Tension Hinge, which dynamically adjusts the tension applied from the pressure plate on the buttress according to the flexion angle of the knee. As the knee moves into extension, the cantilever hinge is progressively forced downward, which engages the straps and produces a compressive force on the rigid buttress plate. This process increases its influence to prevent patella subluxation or dislocation.
